I created Executive Functioning with Taylor to bring all of these experiences together and help kids build skills they can carry with them far beyond the classroom. Through hands-on activities, games, challenges, and practical strategies, my goal is to help children strengthen their organization, focus, memory, planning, self-regulation, and flexible thinking while discovering their own unique brain superpowers.

More importantly, I want kids to leave feeling more confident in their abilities and equipped with tools that actually work for them. Sometimes the answer isn’t trying harder. It’s learning the right tools.

All About Taylor

I know firsthand that organization and executive functioning skills don’t always come naturally. The good news is that they can be learned, practiced, and strengthened!

Growing up, I struggled with organization throughout my elementary school and middle school years. It wasn’t until high school that a teacher took the time to work with me and teach practical strategies for staying organized. Sometimes a child doesn’t need to be told to “just be more organized” or “try harder”. They need someone to actually teach them how.

I have spent more than 15 years working with children of all ages in a variety of roles including as a tutor, nanny, and camp counselor in the Twin Cities. Working with kids has taught me how differently each child thinks, learns, and approaches challenges. It has also shaped my belief that learning important life skills can and should be fun, engaging, and encouraging.

I graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Communication Studies and later completed a premedical post-baccalaureate program. I went on to work in Psychology Research at Scripps Research in San Diego, where I gained an even greater appreciation for science, learning, and how our brains work. Today, I am a startup founder, which means I use executive functioning skills every single day. Staying organized, managing my time, prioritizing, planning ahead, solving problems, adapting when things change, and breaking big goals into manageable steps are all essential parts of what I do.
