Kids are introduced to executive functioning as their own set of “brain superpowers.” They begin to recognize the skills their brains use every day, from focusing and remembering to organizing, planning, and managing emotions.

Executive functioning refers to the brain skills we use every day to get things done. These include organization, focus, working memory, planning, time management, impulse control, emotional regulation, and flexible thinking. At Executive Functioning with Taylor, we call these our “brain superpowers” and help kids understand and strengthen them through fun, practical activities.

The program is designed for children ages 9-12 who would benefit from building stronger executive functioning skills. A child does not need to have a diagnosis or be struggling academically to participate. These are valuable life skills that can benefit kids at school, at home, and in everyday situations.

This is not two hours of sitting at a desk! Sessions combine short, interactive lessons with games, movement, team challenges, hands-on activities, discussion, and opportunities to practice real-life strategies. Each week focuses on a different brain superpower, and students leave with practical tools they can continue using outside of class.

No. Executive Functioning with Taylor is an educational and skills-based coaching program, not therapy or mental health treatment. Taylor is not a licensed psychologist, therapist, counselor, or other mental health care provider, and the program is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical, psychological, behavioral, or developmental condition. Families seeking evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment should work with an appropriately licensed professional.

Because each week introduces and practices a different executive functioning skill, students are encouraged to attend all eight sessions whenever possible. The program is designed to build from week to week, and consistent participation helps students get the most out of the experience.

After enrollment, parents or legal guardians will receive additional program information and required forms to review and complete before their child’s first session. These will include the program’s participation agreement and any applicable acknowledgements, policies, permissions, and consent forms. Once those are completed, your child will be ready to begin discovering their brain superpowers!
